Need help with PAL to NTSC

Ok I pretty new to this whole gaming thing but I had purchased a game for my PS2 to find out that it is in PAL formatt. MY PS2 only plays NTSC. Is there anyway to get it to play the PAL? I feel totally stupid over this didn't think there was a difference but I guess there is. If you have any answer I would like to get an email from you.
