Burn Error after Encoding with DVD Shrink

After many successful dvd burns now I get "DVD- files reallocation failed. BY THE WAY.....The process that I go through is I start with RipIt4Me which uses DVD-Decrypter to rip it to the hard drive. Then I use FixVTS after it is ripped. After that I open it with DVD Shrink whick backs it up and then uses Nero to burn it. And until yesterday this process was working fine for me.

I re-installed Nero but that did not do it.
Also, I have not figured out how to burn the same file again at a later time without having to go through backing up the file again. DVD Shrink opens the first encoded file that was created to burn the 1st dvd but the only option that I have in DVD Shrink is to Back it Up again and create another file before burning the movie. Any help on this problem will be greatly appreciated.

What movie are you doing?
Using the latest RipIt4Me (1.6.4.0) and FixVTS (1.6.0.2)?
Check out this guide for RipIt4Me and make sure everything is set up right - link

Firmware can use an update too - the latest is SBO3.
To burn another copy just use Nero Burning rom or Express. Just add the folder that shrink saved the movie to and burn.

I just finished ripping and burning other movies. It seems like the movie Bourne Identity (new edition) is the only one that has something in the ripped file that Nero does not like. But do you know what "DVD-movie file allocation failed" means??
Also, I was reading one of the threads that the updated RipIt4Me was giving few problems after their installations. But if you say it is better then I will do it.
By the way how important it is to update my firmware (dvd burner)?
And one last question.... how does Memorex blank dvds measure up in terms of quality?

The video allocation error means basically something went amiss in the ripping or there is a bad file. So you were right on target there.
I've done Bourne Identity but not the new edition one so I'm not to sure on all the copy protection it has on it but RipIt4Me should take care of it.
Now the new version I've installed it but haven't used it yet - was just updated but I've never had a previous problem. All you do is down the file and extract the .exe to the folder your have RipIt4Me saved to. You'll get a popup saying something like 'file already exists do you wish to replace' just click yes.
Take a look at the guide in the above link and check all your settings in RipIt4Me. Once set up right just use 1 click and it will do the whole process for you til it gets to Shrink.
Still a no go from some reason then rip w/ the free DVDFab Decrypter. Open those files in Shrink.
Keeping the firmware up to date to pretty important. One main thing it does it help the drive with new media id's and give it the proper write strategies. Or fix bugs in previous versions and sometimes unlock features.
Memorex well your best bet is to stay away. They don't always use the best manuifacturers. Cane be hit or miss and you never know which one you will get.
Better to use would be Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden (can buy genuine Taiyo from a reputable online store) or made in Japan Sony, Fuji (these can be made by Taiyo) or made in Japan Maxell.

Hello again Binkie, I just downloaded Imgburn and tried to burn on of the backedup file "Bourne Identity" (new edition) that Nero could n't burn and when I open the movie folder in Imgburn it shows up empty. I take it, it's because in DVD Shrink I didn't back it up as ISO Image file. So my question is what is the difference? and also, if I burn the ISO Image file on a DVD disk, can play in DVD player?

ImgBurn will also burn the video files just need to use the build mode.
Add the folder the movie is in. Here's a guide.
Long guide w/ lots of info but the 1st few screen shots will point you in the right direction - pretty easy.
Yes the iso will play on a dvd player - you're okay there. But if these are the same files that gave Nero an error on I would rerip them again with RipIt4Me or DVDFab decrypter.

dear blinkie, I followed the instruction page clicked on folder that the ripped movie is in and then clicked on the icon burn file on dvd. the burn was successful but I can not play the dvd on my dvd player or computer. here is the transcript:

Ok are these the same files that Nero gave a DVD-Video files reallocation failed on?
If they are you might want to run the full file thru FixVTS again.
SSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M SB01
Update the frimware to SB03.
Write Speed: MAX
Take the burn speed down to 8x or 6x on these.
Give that a go.
