Problem playing my dvd

First I have to say that I've used DVD Decrypter to back up one of my dvds and it worked great, i was able to play it on my dvd player without any problems.
Now, I tried to burn AVI files on to dvd using avi2dvd, which created iso file, which i burned on to dvd by using the same method as with a back up dvd.
Now, here's my problem, after dvd was finished my dvd player wouldn't recognize it. Why???? I don't understand how it would play one but not the other? Please help, I've wasted 3 dvds with the same results.

please explain what u did? and did u make it in the right tv format, such as NTSC?
