I have a dell inspiron e1705 with a sony dw-q58a. My burn and read speed are about .8x. I updated my firmware to to UYS3. I was just wondering if there were any troubleshooting I could do before I send it back to dell or get a new drive.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi barret
Check and make sure all you drives are in DMA mode and not the sloow pio mode. If the burner is in pio mode that could be the reason you have slow rip & burn times.

Here's a guide
