XP Pro is not recognizing Blank CD Media

I have a DVD Reader and DVD/CDRW burner. Within last 3 weeks the operating system will not recognize blank media in the burner.

Both of these CD drives are Lite-On types. And appear to be on the same channel.

How can I change this?

If it worked in the recent past, I would start to look for possible software conflicts. Have you installed any new programs lately ? Can't you 'roll back' the XP OS to a point where everything was working ok, I don't have XP so Im not up to speed on it. Corrupted drivers, or program conflicts are the first 2 things I always think about though when something suddenly doesnt work any more.
Plus you might want to run antivirus/anti-trojan scans with current definition files just to be certain nothing has invaded your machine.
There's a great help forum on www.dslreports.com also, one for just about every OS in use.
