Hey my bittorrent is going very slow i im trying to download a file of 709 mb and its taking at least a whole day to download. what can i do to speed it up. i just got a netgear router. could that be the problem.
The router is, at least, part of your problem and, maybe, all. First, set yourself a static ip address: http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm It's easy and prevents your router from selecting different ip addresses that render any port forwarding useless, just pay attention to the dns part. Then go here, find your router, click on it, find your program in the next window, click on it and follow the instructions: http://portforward.com/english/routers/p...routerindex.htm Check this list to ensure your ISP isn't on it: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs I forgot to add, use a port over 10,000.
hi i'm a newbie to torrent downloads. i'm using a modem via adsl link. so, how can i portforward on my modem. my downloads is averaging abt 5kBs, its taking me about a week to download a 700Mb file. i have open up port(53000) in my Window XP firewall, and i'm using Azureus to download my torrents.
