Does it matter if you print the DVD's before burning them? Or should you burn first and then print?

Help would be appreciated.

It says right on the package I have to always print before you burn. I went ahead and bought a pack of Phillips silver printables. It does not say why, just to do it that way.

Thanks. I have tried it both ways, but I'm about to burn 100 DVD slideshows and I don't want to screw it up. My Phillips DVD's don't say anything about which to do first.

If you burn the discs first you reduce the chances of finger prints, lint, scratches, etc. to the burning surface that could affect the end quality of the burn. I like to pull my discs straight out of the cakebox and into my burner. Finger prints, lint and scratches are much less detrimental to the label side of the disc than the burn side, and the more you handle the disc before burning the project, the more chances there are for something to go wrong.

I never had a problem printing all my disks before I burn.... it's how I always did it and I never had one problem! And I burned thousands of DVDs, about 1300 or more are printables! So I guess

doesn't apply to me. Or.... you can do it either way! doesn't matter so long as you are careful not to scratch your DVD!

It's does not matter, I tried both and it worked the same.

Since the ink/toner kind of expensive so I used to print after burn the disc to sure the disc is burned OK.

I burn them first,the print them later. I always have and always will. Same thing on my Lightscribes.
