Does anyone know an active site for downloading Mandrake 9 version for the xbox? Sourceforge no longer makes it available, probably because it is outdated, nevertheless, I am fond of such OS being that I am not Linux savvy

Seems to be gone. It's too old anyway and from what I read had some pretty serious issues. It only installed natively to F:\, and for PAL regions needed to start from a boot CD. Also it didn't support the focus graphics chip.. Older distros are not "more easy" to use, normally they are harder to get working because they are older and require more knowledge of installing drivers and general configuring.
Try a more modern one like the Linux 2.6 or xebian, which are still live projects.
