Hello guys,

Would anybody know if Nero could compress the videos ? If it does, would you be so kind telling me where to go and compress the videos.

Are you talking about like movie video's - backing up a dvd?
Nero's Recode does that.

What's the file format of the ones you're trying to compress?

The file that I want to compress is in XviD format and it is 700MB. But I need to compress it and make it 650MB instead in order to burn on a DVD.

Do you want to keep it in the same XviD format, but make the file small enough to fit on a CD, because DVD is 4.7G. Do you not want a DVD movie?

Yes, I do want to keep the file in XviD format but I want to make the size of the file a bit small. Actullay, I want to put the file on the data DVD. My DVD has already have data on it but still I could put 680 MB of data. So, I have a movie file which is 700 MB in size and I want to make the file small enough to fit on the DVD.

Nero can't shrink the avi's and keep them in the same format.
You could convert them mpeg4 w/ Recode Digital and make the target size what you want.

Here's a free tool that will shrink avi's (never tried it myself)
