Ok so I did a Splinter Cell exploit softmod on this kid's xbox so obviously the dvd drive was reading at that point. I gave him back the xbox and he brings it back the next day saying it wont play games. It gives the "can't recognize disc" error, so I turned up the pot on the laser. Worked to the point where it actually recognized what the game was but that's it, so I bought him a new lens and installed it but that doesn't work either. I even put in a known working drive. I'm at a loss here any ideas?

Edit: It will check the disc in UX and sometimes say empty and other times unknown, but never game.

Perception is tricky, it's impossible to tell if anyone perceives things as you do. Perhaps you're in a straight jacket now, having these drug induced dreams. Is it real?
