Hi,
Just want to let people know what i put together. My printing soultion that is very very cheap and produces photo quality dvd covers. Literally beter than original covers.
Canon ip1700 Hi res. MSRP $50, Ebay $30 shipped
Ink Refill $17 Ebay shipped lasts for 12 refills
Everyday Photo paper for photo quality 60 sheets for $10 at Walmart
Amazing covers. and dont worry about ink at all. Bascailly unlimited ink supply.
(cover images i have are 300dpi and 5MB+) Amazing and very cheap.

are you telling us that you are using a paper cover for your DVDs? If you are I wouldn't recommend them.... if applied incorrectly it could cause an off balance of the DVD you might get read errors and such that would cause problems for your player or some players to reject your disk. Got to be careful when applying paper covers to DVDs. I have some when I was a NOOB that still work today.... but I also have some that are coasters now.

Nice solution, here's what I use:
Epson R220 photo printer ($45 on ebay brand new)
replacement cartridges (.99 cents a piece @ meritline.com)
premium glossy photo paper (roughly 12 cents per sheet @ meritline.com)
I scan my covers to 24 bit bitmap images, then resize them on a template in photoshop and print them, they really do come out better than the original covers.

My solution..Canon pixma IP6000D...Cost to me? zilch,the harem hostess paid for it.
Mind you I have to fork out for the $2 ebay inks.

I used individual cases for hundreds with each having there own label. I since moved on to the 510 qty. numbered sleeve Meritline hard case from Meritline.com. I keep a three ring binder catalog with three on a page synopsis, cover, #, etc. of each movie, as well as a spreadsheet of all my movies in alphabetical order. Compact and extremely orderly way of storing them.

Does anyone here just use a scanner? i was thinking of getting a epson photo perfection scanner and just scanning covers and printing them out that way?

I have done them via scanner, if I cant find what I want on a label site.
I prefer the Custom labels from the web,gives an extra touch I think.

Where do you see the cartridges for .99 cents at meriline.com? I just checked (after seeing your post), and a 6-combo pack is $21.56 after 20% off discount.

They seem to have raised their prices since I last bought ink from them. I bought 2 of the 48 combo pack for epson r series and paid , i think about $109, so i got 96 cartridges for $109 shipped, but they've raised their price since then. Good thing i stocked up :) Now it seems they are $1.99 a piece. But check up on them every now and then, They'll have a good sale every now and then. I've done so much business with them, I could probably call and ask for the same price.

Merit has them on sale right now 99 cents at $69.00 also IHoe has the best trick for scanning covers straight to printing.Come on ihoe share some more of your tricks hidden up your sleeve. And i do scan covers and discs from my HP and Epson scanners.Photo paper i buy from walgreens Staples or wherever on sale. The last batch I bought a week or 2 ago at staples HP Advanced 2 hundred packs for $19.95 8.5x11 glossy. Chris

Staples runs their own Glossy paper every other month or so at 2 30 packs for $6 or $7.00 also. Chris
