it is real minus one problem with the chip

it doesn't let wii owners play imports at all it just allows you to play backups from your own country worse the web page wiinja.com advertised in the video the site doesn't exsist or has been shut down by nintendo

also even worse you do relize that everytime nintendo updates there console they change the eprom on the dvd drive to match that update and if you try a older firmware with a newer update the console will not boot anything the other worse thing all wii games report to a online server and to your nintendo.com account to prove that you own a legal copy so nintendo can trace the game to your doorstep

something to think about

im not interrested in this device because of the facts of it leaves to many questions unanswered

so how can that be about the reportng of games? not everyone here has wireless or even cares about their wii going online. so to say that it checks online is false. please stop giving bad info cuz your wii will still play games without an internet connection

also not true

1. you dont have to be connected to the net to play games
2. unless ninty go the sony way (doubtful) and make you upgrade to play games, then it wont be a problem.
3. and finally (nintendo trace to your doorstep) this is bullshit of the smellist kind - ninty can only know where the games have gone - if you register it - no other way

Conspiracy theories....bah. If Ninty starts putting its customers in jail it will be thought of as worse than $ony. The great Satan $ony.

As for playing backups online, they could probably detect a backup in their firmware by looking for boot code. If they don't find it, it could disable your ability to play their (online) games. This is also called DNA$ on the PS2 & has been effective in Socom 3 & a few other online games. I'm sure Ninty was looking at this day long ago & realizes what it must do. For the average legitimate fan, it's great to be able to backup a $40+ game without fear it will be scratched, cracked or broken.
However, for the software p1rate this is an even greater day. Because they will buy a Wii & d/l or rent all the games (to make backups) & have dozens of backups to play. All for the cost of a modchip, some DVD-R/+R & shipping & handling. And gas :)

If so, can I just burn a game and play it on my wii with this mod chip?
