the wiinja comes preflashed which i thought was illegal to put a rom already on the console worse the chip if found lets say by your local postal carrier after running it through a package scanner which lots of countrys do after 9/11 you will be facing charges of piracy

its not a rom - tablepc - it is code

i believe many contries have laws against modchipping - here in the UK its sort of a grey area - but that doesnt stop you buying them - buying them isnt illegal.

the chip comes flashed with there code - not nintendo's so that inst illegal either

In australia they are 100% legal if you use them for imports and backups!
Even Though Big N can change Gaming forever they cant change laws!

it's kind of sad that ppl have already found a way around the Wii's system & will play backups. I hate to sit on a high horse morally, but let's face facts. Some ppl don't want to pay for things & will use this modchip to d/l or rent games & burn them. However, Nintendo could run something if you go online & with a firmware update disable the modchip. So fair is fair. If you decide to make backups you might miss out on online content or the ability to use online at all!

Well the problem with all of these game makers,(PS3,XBOX 360,Wii) and so on. The company like to screw people over in the prices.

If they charged $30.00 per game I wouldn't even think about playing "BACKUPS" I would really go pay the $30.00 and buy the game or even go rent one. Now days blockbusters is "busting heads!" They want about $10.00 for a game for 7 days.

But that is not the case. The games are at screw pricing of $50.00 and now for the PS3 and XBOX 360 with have new screw pricing of $60.00!!!

So if Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo decide to stop riping people off people will stop riping them off by riping games!

Oh no, here we go again. Listen, if you want to have a discussion over the moral intricacies of playing backups just please do a search of the entire consoles category. Then you can mull over the thousands of posts and topics regarding this subject. I only have one request.

I really like horses so please respect the sanctity of their deaths and stop beating them after they have perished.

Thank you

I hate horses!

Anyways, I think it's funny that someone has already figured out how to make Wii Backups, and how to play them! The console has been out almost 4 months, and it seemed to have come quick. I remember when the 360 came out, Team-Xecuter (Xbox Modders) were finding out more and more about the system, and didn't find a crack like 6-7 months later.

There is another mod chip that is reportedly better than the wiinja soon to grace the market.

From what I have read, it is a chip for the disk drive, not the actual mother board, so updates cannot affect the chip in any way.
