If you upgraded to the Sony 3.x firmware, too bad, no homebrew/isos/downgrader for you.

the downgrader for 3.03 is out but you need an unpatched version of gta: lcs and what ever you do DONT UPGRADE TO 3.10 it will be a HUGE mistake
pm me with any psp problems i know quite alot even if it includes a ta-082.

If you got a hundred bucks to spare buy one. But if you don't have the money get an unpatched original version of GTA Liberty City Stories from ebay, do a downgrade and upgrade to 3.03OE-C, that's a custom firmware that supports homebrew and sell the unpatched GTA:LCS again, maybe dump it to your memorystick before you sell it if you want to play the game.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Thank you guys so much for the help, but I got rid of the 3.03 and bought a psp with version 2.81
Is there a downgrader for this,if so, where can I get it? I do have gta liberty if that's needed. Thanks in advance!

Getting rid of that 3.03 version and getting a 2.81 instead was quite useless, considering there is no downgrade for anything between and including 2.81 and 3.02. 2.80 can be downgraded and 3.03 can be downgraded, too. What firmware-update is on your GTA Liberty City Stories UMD? If it's 2.60, you got the wrong one. If it's 2.00, you got the one you need. I really don't know much about downgrading from 3.03, I never had to do that. I just know it uses the same exploit that made 2.60 downgrade possible.

I have the 2.60 version of gta! I guess I'm stuck huh? I saw some sites that have the 3.03 upgrade. I tried a couple downloads and the psp just goes off like its going to restart and upgrade, but it will not power on after that. I have to power it up manually. Thanks for your help!

well, you're stuck until you get that unpatched version of GTA, or you would swap out your psp for a 2.71, ta-082 psp

Doesn't have to be a TA-082, another one is even more easy, but 2.71 or lower would be good.

How can I tell if my PSP is a TA-082? I have a new 1.50 version that will be here soon, but Im also keeping this one to have as a backup. Is it good or not to have one PSP with 1.5 and the other a more updated version? What atvantage will I have owning both? Thanks!!

Then you're definitely not on a TA-082 mainboard. Only newer PSPs have that. Not, that it matters when you're already on 1.50. You should consider putting a custom firmware on it, either 3.03 OE or 3.10 OE. They are not the official Sony installers, you can get easy installers for them here. From a custom firmware you can easyly get back to 1.50 and you can recover the PSP in case you do something wrong and brick it by accident. When you stay on 1.50 and brick it you need a new mainboard. All the custom firmwares support homebrew (the GBA emulator you were asking for in the first place for example, btw the name is gPSP 0.9) and backups of games.

So let me get this right. I have in my hands now, a PSP 1001 with firmware version 2.81 I guess nothing can be done with that one until I get GTA LCS, right?
The PSP I ordered just recently should be a TA-082, it has firmware version 1.50 So you think it's a good idea to download a custom 3.03 just in case I brick it, it will be easy to recover with a custom firmware as opposed to the 1.50 already on it?
Thanks!!

The latest custom firmware is 3.10 OE-A2 (also known as 3.10 OE-A') and yes, I think using that is better than using DevHook to emulate an up to date firmware to play original games. As a copy protection Sony released newer UMDs with games that need some part of a special higher firmware, that wasn't hacked when the game hit the stores, to play and when you are not on that or a higher firmware you just get a message that you should update. When you use 3.10 OE-A2, you don't have that problem and can still use homebrew and backups. Also you can emulate PS1-games, DevHook can't do that.
Also the recovery menue is something nice, especially when you plan to extremely customize and mod your PSP. If you plan to do that, you should get 3.03 OE-B or 3.03 OE-C, 3.10 OE isn't good for modding (yet). But if you plan on emulating PSX-games, get 3.10 OE-A'. The emulator is better, supports PAL PSX games and you got more choices for settings.
By the way, it really doesn't matter what mainboard version you have when already on 1.50. The whole TA-082 thing was quite a problem when trying to downgrade from 2.71. That problem is solved for quite some time now, you just need another downgrader when on TA-082 than when on another mainboard.

Here's all you need, I didn't find the easy installer, but going to a custom firmware isn't this hard to do:
First of all:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1045
3.10 OE-A Update, it's the full install, OE-A2 is just an update to that.
You also need the 1.50 and 3.10 eboots:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4 Rename the eboot to 150.pbp
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1037 Rename the eboot to 310.pbp
And because the readme is a little incomplete this time, a full instruction how to:
Extract the four folders from the 3.10 OE-A Update and put them to your memorystick in the folder MS:/PSP/GAME. Then extract the two eboots, rename them as written above and put them in the folder called "oeupdmaker", it's one of the four you just copied to your memorystick. Activate your PSP, go to Game -> Memorystick, two good and two corrupted icons should show up, the two good are called "3.10 OE-A Update Maker" and "3.10 OE-A Firmware Install". Run the "3.10 OE-A Update Maker" and wait untill it exits automatically. Before it exits, it tells you in green letters that the value is correct and the creation of the update was successuful. Now check how charged your battery is. When it's above 70%, everything is good and we can go on. If not. charge it. While you're charging, go to USB mode again, MS:/PSP/GAME/oeupdmaker and copy the new DATA.DXAR file. Copy it to the folder called "310oeflasher". When you did this, you can erase the two folders oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker%. Wait untill your battery is charged, then run "3.10 OE-A Firmware Installer". Wait, untill it autoexits or tells you to press a button to exit. When done, go and check your firmware. Then go to USB mode again and create a folder called GAME150 in the MS:/PSP folder, but don't rename the existing GAME folder, you need it. All your homebrew now goes into the GAME150 folder.
Then get this:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1053
It's the 3.10 OE-A' update. Just do as the readme says and wait untill it either auto-exits or asks you to press a button to exit. Go check your firmware again, when it says 3.10 OE-A' (the ' is a little hard to see, depending on your background), you're done.

Ok, before I try that,I want to make sure I can do with this version software. I have 303 OEC R+ That is what shows in my system information! Is this fine like it is? I have folders, ISO, MP root, Music, Picture, PSP and Video. Inside psp,I have common,Game, Games 150, Game303, savedata and system. I have a umd emulator, but just dont know for sure where to put the folders. Also,I have a lot of games with a folder called "PSP_Game and a UMD data bin file" Where do I put these,in the same folder as the ISO's? Thanks!!!

Staying on 3.03 OE-C is ok, it supports everything you need. Don't need UMD emulator, don't bother putting these folders on your PSP. Every other homebrew goes to GAME150. With these Quote: PSP_Game and a UMD data bin file
you might have gone one step too far and actally opened the .iso with WinRAR. If you extracted them and don't have the file you extracted them from any more, get UMDGen and rebuild the iso. If you still have the file you extracted them from, put that file into ISO folder.

The place to get custom firmwares is www.dark-alex.org. He is the guy who makes them. Also, I can't get games running off memory stick! I made an ISO folder on root of mem stick and put a game in it, I tried in both .iso and .cso, but I never see them on my PSP. I am on 3.10 OE-A'.
