No sales on Sony 50-packs at Staples that week. Sonys won't go back on sale at Staples until the 11th. Why does this matter anyway, since you can do a price match of the Office Depot price at Staples or Sears?

Don't know how long they'll ge running the sale but newegg has 16x verbatims DVD-R for $18.99 after $11.00 MIR with free 3 day shipping! FYI Enquiring minds might wanna know!

Negritude- My understanding of your earlier post is both are right ! but somewhat turned around ! The 75/25 OFFICEDEPOT DVD/CDR packs - The mixed veg pack as I call it are normally 8X Ritek's for the dvd's atleast here they are - So That would make them Ritek G-05's in the DVD-R and R-03's for the DVD+R's - lately some members have been saying that the Riteks G-05's are bad media ! They maybe right ? But I have used many of them and the R-03's with no problems (Maxells /riteks) the only coasters I've had if any were human errors ( I'm only human LOL!!!!) Know they're not Verbtims or Taiyo Yudens ,but decent media in my experience ! The 16x Officedepots will code out as you said earlier or as Ricohjpns ! Though atleast in louisiana they are bormally sold in regular spindles ! Good luck Negritude with whatever media you purchase & happy burning !!!!

Yes, if the mixed packs are 8x, then they would be RITEK G05s and R03s. Ritek has a very bad reputation with the G05s, as there have been many reports of those disks having quality control and longevity problems. Some people have even said that G05s will basically disintegrate and lose data after 6 months or less. I would avoid the mixed pack if they are 8x and -R. I don't think the +R R03s are as bad.

Whike my experience with Riteks has mainly been with 8x media I like them just fine ! I understand your question ! I have bought much Ritek media in 16x & 8x -as Officedepot media 8x &16x & as maxell in the 8x media ! I have'nt gotten to much of my 16x OFFICEDEPOT media yet but the Ever dancing & helpful Saugmon has used lots of them and seems to like them just fine ! They are apparently decent enough media ,no the are'nt Taiyo yuden or verbatims but not bad none the less ! some of the 16x OFFICEDEPOTS are also Ricohjpns ! I have burned aboout 100 of RICOHJPNS (tdk 4x dvd+r'S Without any problems so hopefully the 16x should be the same or maybe better quality ! Oops! I spoke too soon. looks like Sony media is on sale at Staples. $14.98 for the 50-pack and $24.98 for the 100-pack. The Office Depot price is still better, so if you can, you'll still want to do a price match and save an extra $2 per 50-pack.

The last mixed bundle of OD media I picked up was listed s 8X, but in reality they are 16X Ritek F1 media, seem to do okay, but prefer to use Verbatim and TY when I can find them on sale around here.

blivetNC- yeah They maybe doing like Supermediastore Used To ? with the 4x Shiny Thermal Taiyo Yudens - You were odering 4x But were libel to get 4,8,or 16x Depending on available Stock - which in their case was'nt really a bad thing or trying to mislead because if I remember right they listed the media codes for all three in that add ! I Think that Officedpot is using the Mixed VEG. packs =75/25 DVD /cdr packs to move older or possibly Mislabeled Stock in your case ! For those who live in Canada, the source(AKA Radio Shack)has 25 pack of Verbatim +/- for $4.99. That price is great.They code out as
MCC 03RG20. Not sure if they have the same price in the US, but it's a good deal for me : )
