just wondering, i can get a hold of a new unpatched copy of it. any idea of it's value? btw, if someone on here needs it, i'll be happy to pick it up and ship it to you. sorry if this is in the wrong area. it'd be nice if AD had a place to trade stuff between members.

ahm..the value should be around 60-70 $...i think, because its rare now and its a must have for those who want to downgrade their 3.03 psp

the stores have the patched version most of them anyways im thinking go to blockbuster or any other rental place and rent it they should have the unpatched version since they mostly get games when they barely come out

only used and rented places might have the unpatched version...new gta:lcs all are patched..

no, i'm sure it's the unpatched one. there's a game import store by where i live and they have some american games there once in awhile. most people just don't know about it. i checked the box, it has the older case design. it's still shrink wrapped too.

According to "Hacking the PSP 2nd Edition", page 137 and 138 - the only reliable way to tell if it is unpatched is to look at the center of the hub of the UMD itself. An unpatched version will have the code UPDL-004850A1 burned in and a patched version will have the code UPDL-010050.
A less reliable way, if the game is still sealed, is to look at the spine if the GTA game. For US/N. America, if you see ULUS 10041 then it's not patched. Anything else, then it is most likely patched.
For EU/UK, ULES00151# means it is not patched. However, if you see ULES00151#2, then it is patched.
Now, I was at a Fry's Electronics near my home and they have 6 sealed games with ULUS 10041 on the spine. What are the odds they I can get an unpatched version that they are selling for $19.99?

It's going to be hard to find an unpatched copy in Gamestop or Blockbuster at this point. Plenty of people already scoured those places the 1st days after the 3.03 downgrader was released. Ebay is the sure bet. Of course it's going to be pricey there.

i'll go back and check it out soon. but i'm sure it's unpatched. this game has been sitting around in that store for quite sometime. i remember the day that game came out and they just had a few copies to sell, but it is a really small speciality game import store so nobody really buys these domestic games from there (they over-charge, on everything). now only if they actually had a DS to sell to me.

i finally got the time to check today. yes, it is the unpatched 10041 or w/e number it is. still not sold, i'm pretty surprised. still in all it's shrink wrap glory. it's a shame i don't even have a psp though. if anyone on this forum needs it, i'll be glad to pick it up.

now would be a good time to get a psp, but i heard that u can look at the back cover, if it has a picture of the plane in the top left corner. not sure if this is true

Well I happened to pick up a copy of GTA:LCS today that looked like it might be unpatched just to see. The one I bought today was indeeded patched, even though it matched the unpatched copy I have EXACTLY in terms of the back of the box, booklet and UMD. So there you go. The only way to know for sure is to put the game in a PSP and see what firmware it has on it.

EB games still has used ones, the store I went to even let me test it in my PSP just to make sure. Plus its better to buy it for $19 vs over $70 online.

Pfft anyone see that news recently bout a guy who sold an unpatched version on ebay for $400? AND SOMEONE BOUGHT IT!?
At my local Blockbuster there are 6 copies of the game traded in, all unpatched, £9.99 each. LOL

i have scoured gamestation, game and CEX for an unpatched version in london for it.
where is this store blockbusters?
(ps, i do actually know what blockbusters is, i am just asking where that particualr damned store is)
