Is there anyway that you can tell if GTA:LCS is unpatched by the package without loading the UMD? I want to rent or buy GTA but don't
want to waste my money on a patched ver.

When you go to game on the Sony Media Bar thing with GTA:LCS in the PSP, there should be an option to "Update to Version 2.00"

Otherwise, in a most cases it's a patched version of GTA.
