Have had a quick look back through the forum so sorry if this question has already been asked and answered.
Have used ConvertXtoDVD to write to a DVD+RW which plays back fine in my dvd player.
Have also used Ashampoo shrink and burn to write to a cd+rw which also plays back fine in my dvd player.
What's the difference between the two forms of disks regarding burning a video as blank cd's are a lot cheaper for me.

the movie that u put on a cd+rw must have been a DivX movie ?

cdrw u can fit up to 700 mb

dvd rw u can fit up to 4.7 gb

thats the difference ^^^^^^^^

Thanks Neptune. I was curious that's all.
Yes it was a DivX movie, which l assume that the Ashampoo program shrinks to fit onto the 700mb cd disk.
In that case, as there is no other difference, l'll use these instead.
Thanks for you quick reply.

Thanks rdmercer1. As l'm pretty new to all of this, l was using r/w disks so that l could at least re-use them again should l make a complete hash in downloading. I was just curious about the difference between writing to dvd's and cd's as l thought dvd's were for videos and cd's were for music!
Luckily, l live just over an hour away from Andorra where prices are so cheap it's uncanny. When l feel confident in what l am doing, l will purchase the -R disks for downloading.
Thanks again for yopur reply.
Regards
