OKAY!!!!!
I JUST DOWNGRADED TO FIRMWARE 1.5 USING THE UNPATCHED VERSION OF GTA, NOW HERE IS WHAT I WANT TO BE ABLE TO DO:
RIP MY UMDS, USE ANY LOADER TO PLAY THEM, PSX, AND OLD SCHOOL HOMEBREW... O AND WHAT LOADER IS BEST FOR RUNNING NEWER GAMES LIKE SID MIERE'S PIRATE OR METAL GEAR SOLID PORTABLE OPS. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CSO AND ISO FILE? WHICH WORKS WITH WHICH LOADER?
IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE POST.
(NOTE: THE GAMES PSP GAMES ON MY PC ARE MY OWN GAMES, DON'T PREACH ABOUT PIRACY PLEASE.)

upgrade to 3.03oe-c hacked firmware...then you can run iso through that and for homebrew use psp-hacks.com...

i looked this custom firmware up... all i got was that it was created by Dark Alex. but there is not much more info than that. can it play psx, homebrew, old school emulators? does it play cso or iso files? does it work with all psp games? does it drop any features of the regular 1.5 firmware?
also, can you include a link to download along with a how to tutorial.

use hexitnow's Winstaller for custom firmware.
use one of the 3.03 OE like 3.03 OE-C.
PSX/Homebrew/OE is it's own loader.
devhook and crap can't do PSX no loader besides the OE firmwares can.

thanks for the link,doe sthis drop any of the feature found in my 1.5 firmware? and also can it pplay cso file and iso files? if not is there anyway to convert one to the other? i don't know i'm confused....

it'll play both CSO and ISO files.
what features are you worried about losing?
u basically get all the benefits of having the newer firmware (videocodecs/gamecompatability) and keep all the other benefits of 1.5 (homebrew/bootleg games)

okay thanks, but because i downgraded is there any chance of bricking when i upgrade my psp? has anyone actually tried this? it sound kinda fishy. If it does do all that thats great but im a bit skeptikal.

Of course there is always a slim chance of bricking if you DONT follow the directions . I have doen it my friends many of ppl have used this firmware with 0 problems so it is safe, jsut follow directions and you should be good to go
