I am having a little trouble running my PS1 Backups on a 75001 Slimline. Im not entirely sure if this has been answered before because there is no search option as in other forums, so I hope that everyone will not be to angry if this has been answered before..

I am currently using Swap Magic V3.6 and the Affiliated Hardware.

I can get my PS2 backups to work fine and dandy, but when it comes to PS1 backups, I am greeted with a Nice message that says "Not A Valid PS2 Disk"

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you mean you're using the Swap Magic v3.6 CD disc that also came with the Swap Magic v3.6 DVD disc, then you are mistaken. That's only to load the CD-R based PS2 games like the RTK games (Romance of the Three Kingdom - the blue-sided discs). And what did you mean by the hardware you have? The exploits and loaders or you only meant the magic keys? You're best bet is looking at the PS2-Software discussion section of this forum for more information on that.

By Hardware, I mean the Magic Keys...

So then I guess I'm just totally in the weeds when it comes to playing PS1 backups on the 75001?

I believe you need another method of loading PSX backups onto your PS2. I've heard people have had luck with Codebreaker and Action Replay Max with working exploits/loaders and or using Swap Magic to trigger these programs, but I can't recall for certain about any of this because I have yet to play any PSX backups on my PS2 (though now it sounds tempting, FFT anyone?) But I don't know for certain so it'd be best for you to look elsewhere for this information. It should be here somewhere in this forum, I forgot where, sorry.

well good luck, post back! ;)

Excellent link for those that need help backing up their games...

I came to a conclusion...

Remove any of the Magic Keys.
Boot PS2
Go to Browser
Insert Original PSX Disk
Replace Removed Magic Key component.

This is where I have a little trouble because...the disk is still spinning...and I dont know if this will damage the Motor or not...but ...

Remove Original PSX Disk
Insert Backup PSX Disk
Select The Disk from browser....

it works fine...

With that method, I think I'm better off finding an original PSX game coaster. Too bad none of my games are considered bad, and I don't want to bother risking anything that might accidently harm myself or perhaps my system; otherwise, I might have considered trying this. I doubt doing the switch method while the clip is spinning would mess anything substantially, but the mere thought of doing something like that makes me shiver a bit. I don't have anything to justify that statement so I'll leave whoever reads this with a warning: "try it at your own risk."

Glad you solved your problem Brantis. Hopefully nothing bad will deteriorate from doing this? Guess I'll post back here if I find another alternative method where you can swap disc without the clip still spinning for those who're thinking about trying this.

I've managed to play my backed up PSX games on ym silver slim PS2 with 2 methods: one, like you previous thread starter said, use the magic keys, original disc and swap with your copy game; and, second, use your swap magic disc to swap an old PSX cheat device like codebreaker, gamebreaker pro, or gameshark and such to load your copied game.

As for why the thread starter's PS2 still continues to speed as such, I believe it would be related to his PS2's version line. From what I've heard, most other PS2 versions don't have this problem with the exception of perhaps 1 or 2, I forget, sorry.

EDIT: [cleared up words]

Swap magic is only for Booting PS2 Discs.

So How would You swap, Swap magic with a PSX Cheat device such as gameshark for ps1? It don't let you.
