How to make a full DVD copy but leave out the Fullscreen version?

hey all!
i'm tryin to backup dvd's that have botht e widescreen and the fullscreen versions of the same film.
these disks also have cool extras that i want to keep.
in other words, i'd like to make a full copy of the dvd, but in order to optimise the pic quality, i'd like to leave out the fullscreen version.
i think that way (plus leaving out the extra soundtracks) the film and the extras fill into one dvd-r and no compression will be needed.
any idea how to do this? i'm familiar with most tools, but not yet ifoedit.. would that be the only app to solve this problem?

In DVD Shrink it is normally the second file that has the wiodescreen version on it. Try selecting it and see how you go. It is really trial and error with DVD Shrink.

thanks for the fast reply.
with dvdshrink, is there a way to extract the fullscreen version out and then process the rest with DVD2One?
i have no empirical proof, but i rely more on DVD2One than dvdshrink when it comes to video compressing.
any thoughts?

Yes , in DVD2One there will be two title sets of the exact same length.
It is the same in DVD2One in that the full screen is normally the top option & the bottom is widescreen (but it's not a given rule by any means) !

--> i'm trying to backup "A bug's life". watching it with DVDshrink i can see that the first videotrack is bigger (2,4 gigs) than the second (1,7 gigs). my logic says that the widescreen video must be the bigger one.
would you agree?
i can't really see the difference of the video feeds from the dvdshrink preview window.
and by the way:
in dvdshrink, how can i actually ask the app to leave out the second video track? now i can only choose a certain compression level it or the "still images" option. can't i just choose to leave it out?

hehe. i know it is hard work, but i believe it'll be of great help to many.
but please. about the re-author. maybe i did not make myself clear enough.
i want to make a full copy of the dvd, but leave out the fullscreen version of the video.
dvdshrink will allow me to compress the video or make it a still. but i won't allow me to just simply leave it our.
as far as i tried, re-authoring in this case is not the answer. it is the answer to make a movie only backup of the dvd. for that i use DVD2One.
or am i wrong?

Your not wrong, nor are you right either. You can select more than just the movie, but im not sure what happens to the menu structures and how you get them across. I basically havent tried it yet ;-)
