I use Shrink and love it - but as far as I know, it does not support
batch encoding. Has anyone developed this functionality for Shrink or can someone recco another program.

Thanks
Will

How does this compare to DVDShrink in quality and encoding time?

Shrink is a transcoder that doesn't take too long...... DVDREbuilder Pro is an encoder that breaks down the video files to it's components of audio and video and rebuilds it to the proper size for a DVD5 (or no compression for a DVD9)..... this makes for a longer processing time but it's the best encoder program there is. I can save my projects and load up 4 DVDs to do overnight and when I wake up in the morning there is 4 DVDs to burn using any burning software you have with the best quality you can get! I don't think Shrink has a batch processor where DVDRebuilder Pro does:

check out the DVDRebuilder forum and ask your questions there about DVDREbulider Pro!

I'm asking because I use it as well but it's not even finished in the morning when I want to do 2 movies.

my average times are 115mins total per movie! I use DVDREbuilder Pro w/CCE and 2 passes! I used to set up 4 movies and let it go by 9PM .... I usually go to bed by 12 and get up by 6 or 7AM. All done and ready for burning! I have a Dell XPS Extreme Edition, 3733 MHZ, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM it's fast enough!

Work has been pretty demanding lately. On top of that< I just bought a new house. I haven't really been frequenting AD the past few months!!! Things are settling back down for me now, though. I am almost finished decking out my new PC. I just put a Hauppauge! PVR-350 tuner card in it. My times with Rebuilder/CCE have been amazing with the Core2Duo processor!!! 2 passes in 40 - 45 minutes!!! Of course, that leads me to use RB/CCE a lot more frequently now! That's a far cry from the times I was getting with my 1.8GHz processor!
