I am in the process of replacing a friends 420 e-machine's motherboard with a P4i65G Asrock mobo. I have also had to replace the psu.

When I turn on the PSU the MB starts working (without being switched on!) and there is no display. I have put a small speaker in to hear any post beeps but get nothing. I have checked that the ram and psu are working and they are.

So whats up? Anyone come across this problem before? Please help.

Have checked the cmos jumper (isn't one) and the psu and board do the same thing out of the box as in it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the cpu is fried. I haven't reinstalled windows as I can't get the f'ing machine to work!!

The ladys son pulled the power lead out of the PC and everything died.

I tried the motherboard with a new psu and nothing. So I got a new psu, mobo and ram (had tried the ram and it was shot too), I thought the cpu might have been spared but it doesn't look like it now.
