Hello all,

Since i've had my psp i've always used Devhook 0.41 to boot all my ISO & CSO files which worked like a charm but i then heard "Dark Alex" was the better all round option so i upgraded to version "3.03 oe-b" but i made a big mistake by not ticking the "restore" filter box when installing and i think this might be why my ISO games are not loading.

I have made sure the ISO files are in the correct folder and the game icon shows up as usual in the memory card area however when i click x to load the game it comes up with the psp logo on a white background and then the PSP shuts down after cutting out and i've tried this with numerous games.

So i am now wondering does anyone have the same problem, or is there an ISO loader than i can use that will work well with Dark Alex?

Incidentally the PSX Emulator works perfectly well as does the movie players and all other options, so its only the ISO files i have problems with.

If anyone can help i will be extremely grateful.

Many Thanks )

Sounds like you got a quite common bug. I read people solved it by going back to 1.50 and reupdating to 3.03 OE-X again. You could try updating to 3.03 OE-C, maybe that fixes it and you don't have to go back to 1.50.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Thanks Eisherz, that sounds like a pretty good idea which i did try and it creates an icon on the PSP but again like with the ISO files it attempts to load up and then just cuts out or comes back with an error message which is really strange, suggesting i've damaged the PSP in some way (

My only options is to try and find a downgrader or buy another PSP which is such a shame as everything else works perfectly.

Well if anyone knows of any programs/links or has the same problem, i would really appreciate any advice on this.

Thanks a lot )

Are you sure your configuration files are correct? IE when you hold R at startup do you have the UMD settings all correct?

Could save you downgrading and reupgrading

OK thanks again for all your comments of support...

The Arc you have made a really good point that i wasnt even aware of..."the R1 Recovery mode" is something i wasnt aware of and there are many many options here, is there any key areas that need to be enabled or disabled to allow "iso" files to run with this version of Dark Alex?

Many thanks

Im not sure what all the settings do, but here are mine (i can run any ISO i've tried problem free):

Use No-UMD: Disabled (Make sure theres an UMD in the drive, can be any UMD)
Plain modules in UMD/ISO: Enabled
Execute boot.bin in UMD/ISO: Enabled
Use isofs driver: Disabled

May as well give it a shot eh?
