you need to create a exact copy but in order to do so you need a burning application like dragon burn or even toast 7
the two differences between the dvd's are one dvd contains the ilife apps and office trial and other trial software so this is why the disk is bigger
you will need a dual layer dvd disk and a single layer dvd disk do you have a burner installed on your computer if so you can burn DVDR and dvd dual layer with the mac super drive
so just copy it and try

Do you still happen to have those dvds? My macbook hard drive crashed on me and I don't have the restore dvd's to load it again. THanks, hope you can help me out.

do a google search for "dmg on pc" and have a look around. I know it can be done. the easyest thing to do you be find and other mac and burn them with it or put them on your mac and burn the with it, then format

You should be able to burn the .dmg as data and NOT an image. You would waste one dvd to get it to your university and use another dvd to actually burn the image. Also you dont NEED the 2nd disk (should be the 7GB disk, but dont quote me on it) the 1st disk is just the OS and the 2nd is the iLife suite ( iphoto, iweb, imovie HD, idvd and garage band)

@Ph0BoLuS
Use this program called TransMac
You can then burn/convert .dmg files on your windows pc. I used it and would have no problem recommending it to anybody in this type of situation.

yeah, you should be able to burn it as data the transfer the .dmg over to your mac and burn it with disk utility

I tried it that way and put the .dmg file onto my macbook, tried to run it but it said image cannot be
read or something. I also tried burning it with disk utility and i get
"Unable to attach "Macbook Mac OS Install Disk 1.dmg- not recognized."

It didn't work because you copied it as a Disk Image, you need to burn the .dmg.
