First Off! Im totally new to this, so with that in mind, can you help me?
I have read the threads about getting Iso files on your PSP. This Is what I have done: 1. Downloaded a PSP game with the extension .iso
2. Put the game on my psp in a folder called Root:/Iso.
3. Downloaded Umdemulator 0.5.
4. Copied the Umdemulator directories in the right order on the psp.
5.went to the Game/memorystick in the PSP Browser and looked. There it says: Corruted Data!!
What have ive done wrong?? Please Help!

No, first question is: What Firmware is on your PSP? Second: Where did you find UMDemulator 0.5? That program is like PSP stoneage.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

My first question is always a veiled "Are you illegally downloading ISOs off the internet?"
I just don't help people that do that kinda stuff

well i cant help you there, my knowledge lies in the Dark_alex firmwares 3.02 and up. I suggest you upgrade to them though, as it has a built in UMD emulator thatis foolproof to use.
and you do mean 2.81SE dont ya?

What you have to do is downgrade from 2.81 to 1.5. I am not aware of a 2.81 downgrader, so your only option would be upgrading to FW version 3.03. Then, using an UNPATCHED Gta LCS, and downgrading to 1.5, then up to 3.10 OE-A custom firmware.

There is no such thing as 2.81SE. Only 2.71SE and the the 3.XX OEs.
And yea, you have to downgrade to 1.50 because 2.81 doesn't support homebrew. After the downgrade you can either decide to upgrade to one of the 3.XX OE custom firmwares (NOT the official sony ones) or use the latest version of DevHook (0.52) to emulate a higher firmware to play original games and iso's.

Thanx for all your help! Before i start up / down dating, i gotta ask one more question:
what does it mean when people talk about the psp being "bricked" and likewise? Any good way to avoid this?

being bricked is when your main flash on the psp gets corrupt and the term Brick is from the psp being as useful as a brick when the flash is corrupt, to avoid, id have the revoery folder on custom firmware

A good way of providing a brick is following the instructions that come with the programs carefully. There are a lot of easy installers out there, but when you use one of them make sure you know what it is doing.

Eish: ahh yea 2.71, sorry i kinda skipped the whole 2.x with my psp :P
Yea the downgrade from 3.03 is a good one, just make sure your battery is fully charged and plugged into the mains (to be doubly sure), and DO NOT TURN IT OFF UNTILL IT SAYS SO! I very nearly did, and very nealy bricked mine :P

Quite the same here, I upgraded to 2.71 SE, found two of the three games I tried not working and decided to go back to 1.50.
PSPNERT, you already got the unpatched GTA:LCS original?
