Watch out for the Maxell +16x that are made in taiwan- Cmags!!!!!

Easy, ask for them from Friends, co-workers, etc. I get some from work, they throw them away! Most people don't even know about the Staples and Office Max deal. And the ones that do, don't bother with it.

If anyone elects to get the Verbatims at OfficeMax, be sure to get the one's that have 2004 on them if possible and not the new ones with the Intelliflix offer! I find the older batch of MCC004 to have lower PI errors on my scans (Benq1650). Your mileage may vary of course.

Huh, I have never noticed any difference in the newer Verbs vs. Older (2004-2005) ones. Of course, I judge them by reliable burns and playback quality.

I have 2 benq 1650s with qsuite on both and I can't get them to burn a 16X Verb 004 @ X8 any faster than about 12-15 mins. Mine just don't like 16X Verb 004+Rs. They burn 8X TY +R T02s @8X in 6-7 mins.

Really? With Solidburn activated for known discs (Verbatims 004) My burn times average 8:30 @8x (gives best results in scans). Solidburn off 6/7 minutes @8x just like TYS (slightly higher errors). I guess it's the luck of the draw on those Benqs -- some are more in spec than others. Be sure to use the EEPROM Clean Tool to reset the write strategy with each new cake box you use. If you don't, it will be confused with the previous batch of MCC 004s.
