Good Day,

I just purchased some TDK (TTH02) at Costco.
When I look at the following link it says made in Taiwan

http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

But on my box it says Made in India.

Do I still have 1st Class Media or did I get screwed ?

Thanks,
Dan

Take them back, they are the same class as CMC Magnetics corporation. Stick with the more reliable brands of media now, Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony to name a few.

I don't know how they could say TDK is 1st class media. Most of the burn logs-people having major issues- I see are with TTH mid codes. Those socalled 2nd class ricohs and riteks are a hell of a lot better than TTH.

DigitalSk: Did you open up the spindle to find the MID code?

If made in India, chances are they are MBI- Moser Bauer. Take them back if possible.

TDK sucksssssssss--most of the time, at least. I made that mistake way back in the beginning but haven't since.

Get rid of 'em!

I avoid TDK media, but they are very hard for me to find on sale in my locale.

Lots of cmags are thrown in them-also made from taiwan. I've seen way too many burn logs with TDK coded media.

BTW: On digitalfaq.com,look at the 1st class media for Sony 04D1 on the older -4x sony. Those were absolute garbage. They were made in both Taiwan and India and used the same exact MID code. How could they possibly be 1st class media????

Thank god they are extinct! LOL
