iTunes 7 & QuickTime 7 problems

I'm using a 30GB iTunes photo, about 2 years old. I recently updated iTunes 6 to iTunes 7 with it came Quick Time 7. Ever after the update I have a lot of problems.
I did update the iPod software to version 1.2.1
My PC crashes with a blue screen whenever I start a *.mov file which uses Quick Time.
My PC crashes with a blue screen whenever iTunes tries to update iPod.
Any help available
