Something inside the drive is damaged and the stick will not stay inside the drive and the spring pops the card out. Any ideas how one can fix this?

Are you aware of any replacement kits? Ive looked on some eshops and did not find anything that could help.

Thanks.

U can help ppl helping u by giving us some basic info like:

Where did u buy the card?
and What type of Memory Stick is it?

Plz don't say you got it from Ebay lol

If the spring keeps popping the card out, try another one, u have a 32Mb one that came with ur PSP don't u? If it rejects any stick then obviously the Card Reader is damaged.

If its still under warranty ship it off to sony, they'll fix it. I dont see what the card has to do with the drive being damaged unless its a bizarre shape.

Hey i got my card off eBay (official 2GB sony), i just read the auction before i buy lol.

You got lucky mate

My 1Gb MS Duo High Speed just died one day, piece of junk, I'm never trusting EBay agen and I only paid 89 bux for a 2Gb from a store so it's not like I'd make much more of a saving off the net.

Amir89, yeah sorry. I got a perfectly normal psp and the drive used to work as expected. Yes i got a number of MS's from eBay that were fakes. I had a connection problem with one of them so i used a wedge to push the card upwards to achieve connection with the pins inside the drive. I guess it must have been too short in height (2mm or something, cannot guess).
By using that rude method, i damaged something inside, as pushing in and popping out the card from the psp became more difficult with time, making me to use bigger wedges.

Well u can find plenty of replacement PSP parts on the net man I know that but I dno if your gonna be able to find a replacement MS Drive or something I'm not sure.

Maybe you can somehow just hold it in? Cant you shove the card in, then close the little latch and like tape it shut with duct tape? Maybe just use a lil bit of paper to keep the card all the way in and then shut the latch and tape it.

Other than that man........ you might looking at buying a new PSP
Yea g a y I know these things are very sensitive.

Btw, just to confirm your using the fake MS now? Can you try with a real card, don't u have a 32Mb stick?

I get the same with any card i use, it pops them out.
I currently hold them in with a piece of paper, I'm just afraid it might damage the cards themselves, the original and good ones, that is. I'll keep looking for replacement parts, thanks.

Hmmm or if your willing to man

You could return it to the store you got it from and say it just broke or something and usually they agree with you no questions asked and will give you a replacement PSP.

It's dishonest I know lol, but if your short on cash... not suggesting you try it tho.

I returned my old PSP because it didn't have the right firmware after about 20 days or so, I just said the screen doesn't work at all, and they gave me a new one just like that.
