I use DvdFab Decrypter along with Nero and have not had a DVD that I could not back up using the two. DVDfab is free and is always updated.

it's really just a matter of preferance. for a freebie I would look at Dvdfab decrypter or Ripit4me. both are free and both are updated often. if you wanna paid decrypter you can go with AnyDVD. my personnel favorite is Dvdfab decrypter which i consider to be as good as AnyDVD and it's free. the more you copy you develope a fav and just stick to what ever you like. for the most part they all work fine.

I just tried the DVDFab/Nero Recode combo to make quicktime compatible MP4s. Nero recode seems really quick, I was running at 170FPS during my first try. The finished vid worked just fine on my media hub.

I was thinking that Nero Digital would be proprietary mp4 but it works just fine.

DVD Decrypter was the best for freeware. But I think now DVD Fab Decrypter is the best out there for freeware.

However I still use DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD in the background for 90% of my rips.

RipIt4Me and DVDFab Decrypter for me hands down. Yep, and the best of all is that they're both FREE, meaning it cost you nothing.

Here are some FREE guides http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/A_F_Guides.html (Featuring guides by alkohol and fasfrank; guides including RipIt4Me and DVDFab Decrypter). All you need to do is read and follow them.

Best of luck!!
