Did you run the test from tools to see if the heads need cleaning? When that happens it usually means one or more cartridges is not dispensing ink properly. A lot of ink gets wasted in the clean process as you know, but it is necessary for the ink to dispense properly. I have had this happen using Meritlines (G&G) brand of compatable Epson inks where one color would not work no matter how many times I cleaned the heads. Never had a problem with Abacus inks.

Is that epson ink or generic ink?

I've had a yellow cart that was 1/2 full and wouldn't dispense-it was from Private.abacus.

My last 2 yellow carts for private.abucus gave me issues, the last cart was half full and epson told me it was empty-and it wouldn't work.

When my yellow runs out,my pics have a lot of blue in them.

I'm on G&G ink carts from supermediastore.com and all's ok now.

I buy my ink from supermedia store..my color issues have been resolved ..what i did was in the printer color correction tab i moved the tab over a notch to the darker side and instantly fixed my problem..go figure.

Buying genuine Epson ink at the store is a joke ..its like 23 bucks just for a black cartridge alone.....Does Canon make a cd/dvd media printer..this new epson really drinks up the ink lol.

I believe that Cannon does make CD/DVD printers, however, not for sale in the U.S. unless that has changed. I know that Hewlett Packard makes one for sale in the U.S. but heard that it does not compare to the Epson's. Much cheaper replacement inks are available @ Meritline and Private Abacus for your Epson printer. They are very good and can be had on sale from those outlets at real bargain prices. For example, I purchased 2 full sets plus 2 extra black cartridges (14 cartridges total) plus 50 8 1/2 X 11 Photo Glossy Paper all for $39.95 with shipping included. One set of 6 Epson ink cartridges cost $60.00 by comparison. Claria inks even more. You don't have to use Claria inks either as they are the most expensive for your printer. Epson is currently litigating companys that make after market ink for their printers. An article I read recently quoted an Epson official as saying they are persuing legal action to stop companys from selling knock off ink cartridges as they sell their printers at a reduced price and compensate for those low cost printers in the form of higher ink cartridge prices saying that is how they make their money. Myself, I would gladly pay a higer price for the printer and keep the ink cartridges priced like the knockoffs are priced.

Just received a special from Meritline.com - 24 cartridges (4 complete sets) of Epson R260 compatible ink for just under $60.00 US.shipping included. That comes to around $2.50 a cartridge.

movies27 or anyone else who has this...

I just got this printer....

What type of media are you using for it?
(I'm getting TY watershield full hub)

What are your settings when you print from the program?

Media type: CD/DVD or CD/Premium Surface?

Print color correction: +1 +2?

Or do you go to Manual Print? (if so what do you change there)?

Last what are your settings for the inner and outer dimensions?

I got that sample disc here from Memorex that came with it... ill give it a shot soon....

Thank you...

@ SIXSPEED....I use either the Maxell DVD+R full hub printable or either Yuden dvd+r's full hub printables

On the printer color correction i leave at the default setting.

Inner Diameter-18mm
Outer Diameter-120mm

Other people have their inner & outer diameter set differently that works best for me however.

SIXSPEED - Depending on which media you use your inner and outer settings can very slightly. Like Movies27 said default setting on print color correction. Everyone uses slightly different inner and outer settings which appeal to ones personal likings. After you print a few you will develop your own inner and outer choice.
For example, using Ty Watershield media I use: inner 20mm outter 120
Other regular hub printable Ty's I use: inner 20mm and outer 119mm Watershield media has a different outer edge unlike any other printables and using 120mm outer covers those better. Regular Ty printables have several mm's of clear plastic on the outermost edge and that is why I use 119mm. Also, I have found it is better to cover the white printable area completely rather than trying to lower the inner and outer settings which has the potential to leave a thin unprinted white circle on the inner or outer portions of the media. What that means is it is better to over print than under print. A slight over print will still look great, but if you under print and leave any white showing it will not look good at all especially on darker printed DVD scans. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your guys input.... I will test it all out when they arrive. Already from testing out 4 programs I found out that Nero 6 works the best for CD Audio Burning since you can name the Artist/Album/Track name and such and it will show on any cd player with text support like my car and my stereo. I'm loving this....

But on TY watershield what output should I use on this setting:
Media type: CD/DVD or CD/Premium Surface?
