Whats a good speed to burn DVD files. (.vob)

That is a very opened ended question which I feel you will not get a definitive answer. There are many variables to consider such as the specs of your burner, the quality and speed of the media, etc.

A general rule would be to burn at half the maximum speed of the media. For example, burn 16X media at 8x. But that is not alway true.
The only true way is to run some tests with your burner and your media at different speeds and see what is best for you..
