I'm trying to update a firmware for my dvd-rom drive.
here is an info..
JLMS Xj-HD166s
Firmware Version: DS19
Buffer Size: 512 KB

The current version of this dvd-rom drive is DS1E.
I had downloaded it on my computer and ran the DS1E executable file.
I chose my dvd-rom drive which is JLMS XJ-HDD166. It was frozen at 0% for hours and didn't respond anything back, although I did exactly what it asked me to do before I ran the file. (No cd in DVD-rom drive, close all applications).
It crashed. SO I restart my computer.
and tried to run DS1E.exe file again for the second time. As it truned out, it didn't run at all after the initial run. and my computer was frozen.
(Luckily, my dvd-rom drive still working after incomplete updating firmware)

Is there any wrong with it?
IS there any way to update my firmware beside the one I was using?

From that page you listed I found a link to another page that had the firmware files. And on this page it said "Does the firmware refuse to flash your drive? get Flashfix" Heres the link. . .

The FlashFix program essentially patches the Firmware Updater to overcome limitations in it. Thus letting you be able to update. (on the page were it says "drag .exe to FlashFix window" that means drag the firmware updater to the FlashFix window)
