I'm trying to make a backup copy of excite truck. I downloaded the file through a torrent. I tried extracting just one of the files and then burning the ISO image with DVD descriptor for when I selected my source file I got in a message that said something like "invalid or unexpected image format.

Then I tried to extract all the files and burn them with DVD decryptor but I got the same error message. I am new to the whole RAR idea I'm not even sure I was extracting the current files.

The first file I have has a.RAR extension and the rest have a .r00 .r01 .r02 etc. I'm using WinRAR and not all of the files say WinRAR archive under the type column. some just say r30 etc.
I also have a .nfo file as well as a.svf file

please help.

Put all those files in a folder then right click on it and click extract.

When you extract all the files do you end up with a .wii file? If so then you need to download Rawdump 1.3 and convert it from a raw file to an iso. You can find it here. http://wii.ps2-scene.org/portal.php?styleid=28

I tried that and it did not work I still got the ?invalid or unsupported image file format? message when I tried to burn the ISO file with DVD decryptor.

Here's what else I have tried. (Every time I still get the invalid or unsupported image file format error.)

I tried extracting all the files.

Someone told me at the actual ISO image is in either in the first or last RAR file it would not have a symbol like this <-next to it and that I should just extract that file.

I had read on the Internet to just choose the first RAR file and extract that.

I have also tried extracting everything but the .nfo file and the .sfv file.



What else should I try? I want to make sure I can burn the games before I mess with putting a mod chip in my wii.

after you extract do you get an ISO file? if so then you need to burn it with Nero. There might be some other burning programs that work too but DVD decryper will NOT work. I always use Nero and it works everytime.

If you get the iso then you are extracting it correctly! The nfo file is just an information file. You can read it with notepad. The sfv file is used to make sure that you have all the rar files before you extract it. You can use quickpar or sfv checker to run the sfv file and verify that you have all the rar's. However, if you are able to successfully extract and ISO then you HAVE all the rar and you don't need to worry about the sfv file. You just need to get that puppy burned right. Download the demo version of Nero and try to burn it that way.

I used imgburn to burn the ISO file which I got by right clicking on the folder where the RAR files were stored and clicking extract to. The burn seemed to go okay. So then I should be good to go once I get themod chip in my wii right? I just don't want to crack open the wii and all that and then realize that I can't burn the games right. Thanks a lot guys for all your help!
