I like Xmms. There are many other apps for you to look into as well. Such as Xaudio, AlsaPlayer,RythmBox, AmaroK and MPD. To mention a few.

i knew about xmms i downloaded it through yast

but it doesn't play any files in the normal playback neither by open nor even by dragging files to the playlist

but i'll check the list of players you gave to me

and be back with results

It's a matter of configuration (as I found out to my cost this week)
I believe suse uses ALSA so you will need to link Firefox to whichever player you decide to use, and ensure that the player is linked to your sound driver and not a null device. Sounds simple?..believe me it's not.

I had a problem with m3u playlists.

Did this.

1. Type "about:config" on the address bar to get to Firefox config settings.
2. Do a filter search for "hide_plugins" and double click on "browser.download.hide_plugins_without_extensions" to change the settings value to "false".
3. Open up "Edit > Preferences", go to the "Downloads" area and click on "View & Edit Actions".
4. It should now list all the "File Type". Do a search for audio and change the "MP3 audio (streamed)" to open up in the external xmms player.

[edit] without the quotes [/edit]

Then restart firefox

Mine just works.. Don't know how as a search for audio brings up an empty box.
When I click on a play link iceweasel asks me what player I want to use.
