hey all im totally new to all this but i got Nero 7 and i just wanna burn one movie as a VideoCD file thinking this will play on most dvd players.all i have are dvd-rs so on smart start i hit the dvd tab and the closest option i c there(i think)is make your own dvd movie,so i add the file it takes like over an hour to burn but at the end of the burn it puts up some error msgs.sooo how do i just burn one movie with a DVD-R?or do i need to get some cd-r's to make a VCD.burning it as a data disc wont work in my player btw.any help would be appreciated.thnx in advance! :)
If you want to make a VCD, you have to use a CD disc, not a DVD disc.
If you have the capability in that version to burn DVDs, pick DVD video and use NeroVision to load the file and make a DVD. If you use StartSmart, you can see different selections which will open utilities for doing those tasks. If you are wanting to burn an .avi file as a DVD video, choose "Make a Movie". If you want to burn a VCD or Super VCD, choose those. Help files are available on the Nero Site.
If you want to burn your AVI files to a DVD then I would recommend using NeroVision, it will do the necessary conversions. Mine normally take from between 1and a half to 2 hours. Heres a basic guide on how I burn mine, theres a more comprehensive guide, by alkohol, in my sig.
