if your burner is 8x and you are trying to burn a 16x disk then you would need to do a firmware update so your burner will properly recognize the newer media that you are using to burn with that 8x burner! what is the make and model # of your burner? what software are you using to burn your DVDs..... and what are you trying to burn?
no! Like I said..... the 16x media is the newer media out there and an 8x drive has to have a firmware update to burn to these disks properly by getting the correct write strategies to burn to that disk.
the latest firmware for your drive is BYS3 found here: LINK
