Try the discs before condemning them. Prodisc is a high quality manufacturer, but they get little drive support because they are relatively small. The "F" in the MID code signifies that the media use the Fuji Oxonol dye, one of the most stable in the market. It does require extra laser power; and if a drive does not have that setting in its firmware, results can be poor (unless one slows down the drive speed so that the laser power curve can expand and do a better job on the discs. ProdiscF02 are "undesirable" only if your drive does not support them. If your drive does, they would be an excellent choice for discs you want to last a long time.
