Any idea how I can do this?

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 and using an NEC ND-3550A drive.

Right click on my computer>properties>hardware>device manager.
In the tree right on your drive under dvd/cd rom drives then properties.
Go to the details tab - the firmware version will be all the way to the right.
Here's a pic - in this pic the firmware is 1.02
