Will read cds / Won't read games or dvds?!?

My younger brother has a softmodded xbox using the Splinter Cell exploit and xbmc installed. Everything has been working fine for months.

Yesterday he tells me that it was "reading slow" so he ran a memorex lens cleaner.

Now, the problem.

If you boot up with a game disc it will load the Xbox screen, freeze for a bit, then the white "Microsoft" loads on the Xbox screen, it freezes again, then goes straight into xbmc.

The drive is reading Cds fine though.

Any help would be appreciated.
