You could try to follow this guide:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/gordian_knot_ac3.cfm
but it's out of date. Some of the programs have been upgraded and the methods have become different. I'm thinking of putting up a comprehensive guide that puts together all of the stuff I've learned and what works with the newer programs.

well what are the main apps that most of the people use, who upload the videos to torrent sites.??
Most of all the videos are XviD with AC3 sound...!!!
isn't there some sort of simple app that can do this..??
also what app do they use to edit the movie or show for like removing commercials and credits and everything else..???

There is a thread somewhere on this site that had a lot of discussion about how to make great looking DivX/XviD movies.

I have downloaded the tips there and applied it to what I already knew from making DivX videos before, but would need some time to create a guide that would make use of everything from both the old guides and the updates followed up in that thread.

If you want to find that thread, look for something along the lines "The True way to make DivX movies" or something of that manner. It was some time ago so I'm not too sure as if it is still up, but it's guaranteed to make great looking movies at a decent file size.

A few programs you will need are:
-Gordian Knot Rip Pack
-AVISynth w/ AVSEdit for ease of use
-DivX or XviD codec packs
-VobSub or some other subtitle ripping program for subtitles

Because of some laws that were introduced back at the start of 2006 in Finland, some steps can not be discussed on the site, like how to rip DVD's to be used to convert to DivX/XviD, but I doubt you would need that info anyway :P

I'll see what I can do to make an updated guide for making DivX/XviD movies for either 700MB or 1.37GB depending on if you want to use the original audio or using MP3 instead.

How are VBR and CBR MP3 audio different using AutoGK. Or does it even matter since I can manually configure the bit rate?

I'm thinking about doing it, but I need time to come up with it, because I'm busy at the moment.

I'll see if I can get an OK from an Admin to get the guides amended, so please wait until then.
