Hey guys,
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if I get a BBA for my GC along with gcom and gcsm, I should be able to backup my current games as well as stream them to my GC? Or am I missing something? btw, I'm using the datel sd media launcher to run my dol files. Anything else I need?

Thanks in advance,
Wulfie

Provided that you network it properly, then yes you're correct.

And what would be the 'proper' way to network it?

Depends on whether you're directly connecting it to your PC via crossover cable or if you go through a router/switch/hub.

In either case, all you really need to do is set your PC's connection up with a static IP of 192.168.1.100 and you should be fine. Many of the GC applications just look for that IP when your streaming stuff anyway. Also, the Gamecube usually has an IP of 192.168.1.32 and transmits data on port 4000. So be sure to keep that port open.

I'll be connecting through a router, and it's ip address right now is 192.168.2.1. I have two pc's that connect to it, so one takes the address of 192.168.2.2 and the other is 192.168.2.3. Do I HAVE to set my router to 192.168.1.100? Or can I configure gcom to use any ip address?

If you're using GCOM, set it to whatever you like. Just make sure everything matches up.

In your case, it should be 192.168.2.1 (your PC), 192.168.2.32 (Gamecube), and 255.255.255.0 for the mask.
