I wonder why the dry spell. There hasn't been anything great recently, correct?
I was at my local BB yesterday and there was absolutely no Verbs there. None.

This just sucks!
Oh well, good thing I have a massive amount "in stock" :)
Finding MIJ Maxells is like finding a needle in a haystack! :(
Check Walgreens, Sears, etc, maybe K-Mart.
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I've given up on finding the MIJ Fuji/Maxell/Sony +Rs. Thus, I'm sticking with Verbs (not that that is a problem). But they haven't been on sale for a while. I'm down to a spindle and a half!

Office Depot has a 100 spindle of Maxells for $24.95. It is worth a look for the 8X MIJ. I was lucky to find such a spindle a couple of months ago, even though I know they are harder to find.

(9/20/06) Microsoft: Xbox 360 to add 1080p support.

Unless those TDKs say "Made in Japan". I don't want them.
I have used TDKs before without much luck. All were made in Taiwan. Yuch!

Personally, the only TDK discs that I'll touch is their CDs . . .
I'm pretty certain that, like Verbatim, the only place that you'll find the Yuden made TDK DVDs is in Europe . .

You'll never find MIJs in a 100-pack, and you may only sporadically find an 8x MIJ 50-pack sitting on the shelf collecting dust. You got lucky, but for anyone else, it's a waste of time.
Beyond that, it turns out that Maxell MIJs don't even burn that well, and they have bonding problems, so unless you can find 16x Maxell MIJs, which are much better, I'd skip the 8x.

The last time I bought TDK DVD+Rs from Compusa they were CMCMagM01, but I got some a little while before that at Best Buy Yuden000T03. I think this was all around Christmas time last year.

I think the 20-something discs that I used from TDK (8x) were CMC Mags. That was before i knew about quality media.
Since then, only Verbs or TY (or its equivalent).

bratcher- While For Walgreens that was a sale ! That's the same general Pricing Region of BestBuy / Officedepot / CircuitCity ... -$12.99 - $15.99 or So when they have their sales ! The only advantages to The Walgreens sale are/were that A. walgreens does'nt likely move as much Blank DVD Media through their stores as one of the Big Chains do So you might have A better chance at some MIJ Media ? Older stock ? And B. as they say in the Real Estate Biz "Location ,Location ,location !!!!!!!!!! Most people will probably have more Walgreens closer to home then The Major retailers ! I'm Not Knocking Walgreens I really like their stores & was just in one yesterday ! Just stating The way I see it ! Though with Prices coming down lately , Maybe the Price could be lower by a little bit ! But Thanx for Posting the info in anycase bratcher! Ciao!
