Sorry bro (or sis), but if you placed your PSX eboots into GAME\ready to rumble\eboot.pbp (or whatever the game is called) and it gives you that message, you're not using custom firmware, I got the same message when I was using official firmware 3.11.
My PSP's life: (TA-086 Mobo) 2.71 => 1.5 => 3.03OE-C => 3.10 OE-A' => 3.40 OE-A.

On official sony firmware, the only ps1 to psp games you can play are the ones that you buy and download for a few dollars from the ps3 store. The ones that you convert yourself can only be played on custom firmware.

You have to be on custom firmware, if you just read the thread. But if you are then put your iso's in the iso folder and put your ps1 games in a folder inside the game folder.

I have a similar problem. The initial preview screen appears and I press O to start the game, after the warning screen about how the game has been modified from the original I get a black error screen with the mess "The game could not be started. (CA000005)". Any ideas please?

I'm running 3.40 oe-a and I haven't had any problems running any PS1 games yet. I have the Autorun program, Use NO-UMD, and Fake Region options all disabled. The other three are enabled. Under the Advanced Configurations I have the first option enabled and the second and third disabled. The XMB speed is set at default and the UMD/ISO speed is set at 266. I play Ready to Rumble with these settings.
