Ok how do I convert SAV files from the VBA to DAT for the M3?? All the suggestons I followed didn't worked at all. Instate the M3 Lite still loads the old saves which doesnt seem to make sense since I replaced them so they shouldn't even exist anymore???
The M3 Game Manager isn't able to manage or convert any saves so I dont know why people even suggesting that options and the save manager doesn't exist (anymore?).

jgarces07:The shoulder buttons on my DS (not Lite) are not working. Any advice?
nintenut:This is going to sound a bit odd, but it works, put your lips around the trigger and blow really hard, it works.
bee_cup: My DS Lite L button don't work...
nintenut: Put your mouth on it and blow, gets the dust out, and sounds obscene!

And? Nothing happens when I click "Saver Manager".
Another odd thing is that I cant access the save game of the M3 anymore. If I play the file of the GAMESAVE folder in VBA it's the one I saved in the emulator but when I play the game on my DS it plays the one I saved there previously (with the DS not emulator). So how can I extract that savegame if it's not in the GAMESAVE folder?

Is it even possible to use VBA saves for the M3?

Yes, I use to do so all the time. I used the save management functions stated by XbusterZ to convert the VBA .sav files to the M3 .dat fies.

OK, this is how I did it.

Dump your .sav file using REIN or whatever. I then put it on the desktop and run it through the Save Transform program. I have a link for it here http://www.filefactory.com/file/22a530/

And the readme here http://www.filefactory.com/file/04001f/

Give it a shot and let me know. It was the only thing that worked for me. You can choose dif file types. I had to fiddle with it a little until I got the right one.

Why Rein? I wanna use the VBA saves not extract anything from the M3. The transformer unfortunately can only convert to another sav file and the Save Manage can't read those which seems like it's not possible to convert sav to dat.

I just use rein because it is the only way I know how to do it ;0.

I think the save program will use any sav file. I don't know for sure as I only have REIN

Here is a link for REIN I don't know if it has a readme. I remember having to google for it.

Here is a forum thread on it. It is a long one but the info you need to make it run right is somewhere on page 2 I think.

A quick look over this thread dosn't show any links to M3 Simply software :S perhaps I missed something...

Anyhows, I will test out the VBA .sav to M3 .dat tommorow and post a mini guide to how I did it. I KNOW it is possible as I did it alot quite a while ago (a mixture of hacking Pokemon games and Megaman emulation lead me to doing it) and I know it was using the M3 Gamemanager.

Quick guide to converting VBA .sav files to M3 .dat

- clear the M3 SRAM of any GBA save, easiest way to do this is turn on the M3 wait till it finishes it's auto-backup, then turn it off again.
- Open the gamemanager
- Browse to your GBA games
- Double click on the game your adding the .sav file to
- highlight the .dat save file to overwrite
- click write .sav
- find your .sav and double click it
- done

The important thing to do is ensure the GBA save is not in the M3 SRAM when you edit it, because if you edit it then turn the M3 back on when the save is in SRAM it will auto-backup the SRAM save over your modified save.
