Someone please help me, i thought i was going to love this game but its doing my head in!

I think im on the first level, im in a room with a Keeper (a thing with laser cannons) and two doors, one that i came through and the other one, i presume i need to be going through.. BUTT I can't figure out how to open the door.

Anyone know how to?
