I just got a phone call from my local MicroPlay that they have received Wiis, and that one is for me to pick up(can't get over the excitement!). Before I go get it, I need to know if infra red receivers(on my VCR, TV and PlayStation 2) are going to interfere with the sensor bar. I don't want to have any problems due to infra red receivers(but I think infra red sources will cause interference with the Wiimote, right?).

My console collection: Version 14A PlayStation 2(chipped), Version 7 PlayStation 2, PlayStation(both models), Wii, Gamecube, N64, Super NES(original from US and Japan and Mini), NES(front and top loader)Model 1 & 2 Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Atari 2600, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Master System(Model 1 and 2), Atari Flashback 1 & 2, FC Twin(2 in 1 NES/Super NES clone), GN Twin(2 in 1 NES/Genesis clone), Atari 7800, Intellivision II, TurboGrafx 16, GameBoy Color

You'll be fine. The censor bar is two IR beacons, you're right about that, but it shouldn't be an issue.

(Unless your VCR is pumping an atrocious amount of juice to make sure the VCR remote will work)

Look at it this way, if the Wii-mote didn't work around DVD players, than this problem would be all over the internet. Not many people would buy it.

Just keep the censor bar away from direct sunlight, and it's smooth sailing.

Well, yeah. And to be honest, it's really what got me going for the Wii in the first place when I tried it out at Festival Arcadia here in Montreal(Excite Truck got me into it too). Would be nice to have more games though(plan on getting Blazing Angels at the end of the month, and it would seem it supports Nintendo Wi-Fi online gameplay up to 16 players, so I'd like to see what that would be like.

Dude, I already have the Wii. If I hadn't gone to pick it up on Monday, the next person on the waiting list after me would have gotten it. I need more games though, and I really want to go into the Wii Shop Channel, although I need the Nintendo Wi-Fi adapter, as I have a wired broadband connection through my modem, which is not Wi-Fi capable. You should also remove the caps from post. A moderator could get you in trouble for that.
