How to make the GBA game Riviera work on the M3 Lite?

I got my backup of Riviera for the GBA on http://gba-rom-news.org/ and patched it like any other game but after it loads up on the M3 the screen stays white. What could be the problem and/or where else can I get another backup of it?

If your loading the game using 'A' try pressing 'Start' (or vice-versa)

If that dosn't work try changing the patching method to only Hardware, or only Software, also try disabling Real-Time save.
