Just got a DVD with Richard Diamond old time radio shows on it in the mail. Surface is silver/shiny. CD Check said it was TYG02 & it codes out as follows. bs0t0000 is in the area close to the ring where the recording goes. In the plastic inner hub I found the following sv6335107576gg. It doesn't look anything like my silver/matte TYG02's....

I'n guessing it's a fake TY disc. Am I right?

That bs code isn't even close to any ligitimate Taiyo Yuden dash media. That bs code means it is BS!!LOL

I hope you didn't get ripped off-ordering a genuine dvd and they shipped you a backup copy.

Can you scan that backup with nero's speed test or an equivalent program to check the PIE/PIF errors?

How's the playback quality?

I didn't buy the disc I was sent. The old time radio groups trade shows for free with each person buying discs & paying postage for whatever they send & recieve.

Heard back from the guy who sent me the disc. He said it was Valueline from Supermediastore & even gave me a valid URL. I've never used it though, only the Premium Line silver/matte with a valid code on the disc

That disc he sent may have been real TY as my Sony (also TY) has GH at the end of it's code in the plastic hub & it's 16x. My 8x has the GG at the end in the hub too. Maybe TY has switched the GH & GG letters to the end of the code? The last 8x I bought from SMS has AAS00000 near the recorded area & 1F627206052GG in the clear plastic hub. The 16x Sony TY has SH2000HD near the recording surface & MD623A10633GH in the plasic hub. Very strange...

Nero's CD-DVD Speed doesn't work with my Plextor drive for the disc quality test but CD Check finds the proper hash files & doesn't give any errors.
